Electrical 401

Electrical 400 classes take place in Bellevue or Tacoma/labs inclusive. Students will undertake a detailed study of Article 430, parts 1 through 4 of the NEC, motor theory and associated calculations, and other articles of code pertaining to installations of motors or controllers. Students will be introduced to chapter 5 of the NEC and specialized equipment requirements, ( explosion and dust ignition proof types). At the 5th week students begin building "live" control projects in the motors lab. A total of 35 projects will be built during the year.

    • Electric Motor Controls (most current edition), Herman.
    • 2008 NEC Code Review, Appleton (provided in class).
  • Recommended Books:
    • 2008 Electrical NEC Exam Prep - Holt
  • Schedule for lab dates will be handed out the first night of class each quarter
