Heavy Equipment Operators - Level 1

In the first year of the 3 1/2 year program students will thoroughly review construction site safety and equipment safety; are introduced to trade mathematics, blueprint reading and rigging. Students then are introduced to most types of equipment including equipment identification, maintenance and basic operational techniques; operation of utility tractors, and are introduced to grades. Course also includes First Aid/CPR, fall safety, trenching and confined space safety and a brief prep for CDL. Practical projects are assigned to practice skills and will review green building practices.
