Plumbing First Year

    • First Quarter Begins September 13, 2010
    Commitment: 13 Weeks/72 Hours

    Students will thoroughly review construction site safety and shop safety and are introduced to trade mathematics; safe use of basic hand and power tools; blueprint reading; rigging; and are provided with an overview of plumbing careers, plumbing safety and plumbing math.

    Second Quarter Begins January 3, 2011
    Commitment: 12 Weeks/72 Hours

    Students are introduced to plumbing drawings; and learn about plastic pipe and fittings; copper pipe and fittings; cast iron pipe and fittings and will review green building practices.

    Third Quarter Begins March 28, 2011
    Commitment: 12 Weeks/72 Hours

    Students will learn about carbon steel pipe and fittings; fixtures and faucets; are introduced to drain, waste and venting (DWV) systems; and introduced to water distribution systems.
