Electricians

To maintain an Electrical Certificate of Competency individuals must complete at least twenty-four (24) hours of approved continuing education units (CEU) in each three-year renewal cycle, [eight (8) hours for each year of the prior certification period.] Required units include:

  • 8 hours on currently adopted National Electrical Code changes (Category 1)
  • 4 hours on the currently adopted Revised Code of Washington and its related Washington Administrative Codes (Category 2)
  • 12 hours of industry-related education (Category 3)

Plumbers

Plumbers are required to complete 16 hours of continuing education within a two-year renewal cycle. Required units include:

  • 8 hours of currently adopted plumbing code (Category 1)
  • 4 hours of Industry-Related Electrical (Category 2)
  • 4 hours of Industry-Related (Category 3)
